these are some of the first sketches i did for the t-shirt design
i actually went very far in with this sketch and decided to render it (as seen below) before i decided that the style wasn't popping as much as i would have liked.
first sketch of my final project, i was trying to capture the likeness of both of my characters, Zuma with his more care free nature, and Squee with their more protective yet silly nature.
to capture Zumas likeness i leaned more towards a rounder pose apposed to a stiffer one letting his body kind of flow, while still contrasting with the rectangular shape of his blaster.
here i cleaned up the line work on Zuma and below i cleaned up the line work on Squee.
as you can see in the final product there isnt any line art and thats because i wanted to represent the Splatoon concept art in my illustration.
